175 years of craftmanship bundled with one strong name: Kaak

28.06.2021 | Kaak Nederland b.v

Thursday 24th June 2021 is a special milestone in the history of Kaak, the still family owned company from the Achterhoek with its head office still located in Terborg (NL). There are two reasons for that.

Firstly, the 175th anniversary of the organization that started as a local metalworking company and is now a leading international manufacturer of machines for the baking industry.

Secondly, the bundling of all specializations in the organization within one brand name: Kaak.
A step that is strongly driven by the perceived wish of customers and also represents the desired focus of the internal organization. It fits in seamlessly with the strategy used for vertical integration of the complete production process, from silo to crate.

Initially grown into a producer of product carriers (Bakeware/NL), the development of the integrator function for various components soon followed (Food Production Systems/NL); such as spiral towers, cooling and transport systems or robot solutions. Particularly in the past 30 years, the organization has experienced significant growth. The addition of successively the specializations for dough making (Benier/NL), thermo-oil ovens (Daub/DE), cyclo-thermal ovens (MCS/IT), (re)coating of material (Lhotellier/FR) and the systems for silo storage/process optimization (Silowacht/NL) has not only led to a considerable expansion of the complete portfolio but also established the international status. This increased internationalization has initiated the addition of sales offices in the United Kingdom, France, Taiwan, Brazil and more recently North America.

By bundling all the expertise under one name, Kaak is strengthening its position as a unique and clear point of contact for small or medium-sized bakeries and the larger industrial bakeries.
From 24th June 2021, the brand name Kaak will represent all specialties in the entire organization. During a transitional period, only newcomer Silowacht will still operate under its own name. In combination with the existing service/sales organizations in countries such as Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the current step strengthens the position of Kaak as a world-class player.

As non-bakery related entities within the group, both technical intermediary JAWS (NL) and producer of 3D metal printing K3D (NL) will retain their own distinctive name.
